Visible Policing on Fortis Green |
||
|
Yesterday, our team split into two groups: one on cycle patrol and the other on foot to cover different roads across the Fortis Green ward. By maintaining a visible presence, we aim to help prevent antisocial behaviour and other crimes, while offering reassurance to our community. The Fortis Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team will be out on cycle patrols again today! If you see us out and about, do stop and say hello; we’d love to hear from you about any local issues or priorities you’d like us to focus on. Your input helps us keep Fortis Green safe and connected. Regarding cycling, as the dark winter nights set in, being visible and well-lit is more important than ever. Good visibility not only helps you see the road ahead but also ensures that drivers and other road users can see you clearly. Always use bright front and rear lights, wear reflective or high-visibility clothing, and consider adding reflective strips to your bike or helmet for extra safety. Riders should also keep their lights and reflectors clean and in good working order. Remember, street lighting alone isn’t enough; your own lights and reflective gear make all the difference. Staying bright and visible helps keep you safe and confident on every ride this winter. Please spread the word and encourage neighbours who may benefit from joining Met-Engage. The more residents we connect with, the better we can understand local priorities and direct our resources where they’re needed most.
